South Tenerife has long been popular with UK tourists looking for a sunny holiday destination all year round. Tenerife is located just a short distance from Africa, giving it a mostly warm and dry climate no matter what season you visit in. Aside from this, another big factor in the popularity of South Tenerife as a holiday spot is the fact that so many budget airlines fly to South Tenerife all year round for a reasonable price, making it easily accessible even to those on a tight budget or looking for a bargain holiday. easyJet Holidays and Ryanair have been flying to Tenerife from the UK for many years now and with the relatively recent addition of an extra budget flight company (Jet2) now serving Tenerife there really is no excuse why you should not holiday here!
South Tenerife offers the best weather on the island and also the best attractions for families, clubbers and couples alike. There are 3 main resorts at the base of the island, Los Cristianos, Playa De Las Americas and Veronicas. All are approximately a 30 minute bus ride from the Tenerife South airport (Reina Sofia/TFS).

Tenerife South airport is the busiest passenger airport on the island of Tenerife with approximately 10,000 passengers passing through the arrivals door every year. It is easily accessible via the TF-1 motorway and just a 30 minute bus or taxi ride from the popular Los Cristianos tourist resort. There are an abundance of buses and taxi cabs available cheaply right outside the terminal door on arrival at the airport and the drivers know mostly all hotels in the south of the island, so there is no need to worry about getting lost. You could also choose to pre-book airport transfers online before you leave. Voucher codes for airport transfers are available on various sites on the internet.
If you are looking for a quieter holiday destination with the same fantastic climate, you may want to consider visiting North Tenerife instead. It is much less tourist orientated, but probably not the best place for a family holiday as children would without a doubt prefer the many water parks and zoos the south of the island has to offer! North Tenerife could be a good holiday location for couples or even honeymooners.

Ryanair currently flies from more UK airports than any other UK budget airline to Tenerife, following the recent decision by easyJet Holidays to stop many of its routes to Tenerife. Unfortunately, Ryanair don't fly to Tenerife North and neither do easyJet Holidays or Jet2 from any UK airport. As a result, if you are looking to fly from the UK to North Tenerife, you will need to use a more expensive airline such as British Airways, Iberia Airlines, Air Europa or Aer Lingus. easyJet Holidays flies less routes than Ryanair to Tenerife, but offers a similar service and pricing structure, so if you have one of these airports within easy travelling distance of your home, it may well be worth checking them out.
